72nd MARTYRDOM OF MAHATMA GANDHI

72nd Martyrdom of Father of Nation was observed on 30th January,2019 at Dewan –e- Aam, Mubarak Mandi , Jammu. It was organised by the Gandhi Family J&K. People from all walks of life including students and representatives of civil societies participated in it. Students from five states Jharkhand, J&K, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Mizoram accorded. The atmosphere was echoing with the favourite Bhajans of Mahatma Gandhi, “ Raghu Pati Raghav Raja Ram “.Govt. and private schools assembled at the venue. The students of D.B.N. V.M.M.M. along with renowned personalities of the state paid homage and floral tribute to the holy soul. Children recited patriotic poems and songs. Tribute was paid in 16 languages by the tribal communities of Gujjar, Hindi, Dogri, Kashmiri, Urdu etc. Former Minister Gurcharan Singh Charak ,the great Gandhian welcomed the mass gathering. The teachings of Gandhiji were reminded to the students and they were asked to follow the footsteps of Gandhi ji, whose long path was full of struggle and teaches us a lesson of non- violence. Although it had been drizzling, everyone remained bewitched listening to the speakers. The programme accorded “Unity in Diversity”. Various political leaders also acknowledged the programme.
